Live Streaming of Games
There are TWO live streaming options for you to pick from. Read below (!) for information about the two options so you can decide which is right for you.
- NFHS Network
- Spartan QBC Live stream on YouTube
Option 1: NFHS Network (link)
In 2023, the Issaquah School District (ISD) signed a contract with NFHS to make NFHS Network the official live streaming service for ISD sporting events. Starting Fall 2023, varsity and JV football games will be streamed over the NFHS Network. This is an exciting development for family and friends who want to watch their favorite high school athlete compete but are not able to attend in person.
An NFHS Network subscription is required to view the NFHS live stream or events demand, which costs either $11.99/month or $79.99/year (one device at a time). Visit the NFHS Network website for more information or to sign up for an NFHS Network PASS - Subscribe to NFHS Network. |
Once you are subscribed, visit Skyline High School - Sammamish, WA (nfhsnetwork.com) to select from any of Skyline High School events.
Option 2: Spartan QBC live on youtube (Link)
The Spartan QB Club is proud to present the Spartan QBC Live stream on YouTube. We have an amazing team of volunteers who love football and want to provide Skyline football friends and family a high quality live stream experience from the perspective of Skyline football - and at no cost to you.
2023 was our first year. While we experienced some issues, we made adjustments along the way and, overall, it was a GREAT SUCCESS! We are working to do even better this year. Visit Skyline Spartans Football - YouTube to watch the Spartan QBC Live stream of varsity football games and some JV/Froshmore games, as resources (volunteers) permit. Prior games are also available for replay. Please SUBSCRIBE and click the notification bell so you don't miss any of the action! |
Spartan QBC Live is funded by donations from the Skyline football community and local businesses who believe in the Spartan QB Club mission. If you want to help fund great programs like this, learn how to donate here.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Why are there two live stream options? Isn't that a waste?
A: Skyline football boosters (Spartan QB Club in 2022 and the Skyline Gridiron Club prior to that) have funded a live streaming service for the past several years. After 2022, the Spartan QB Club decided to take the live streaming service to the next level, so we raised funds through donations and assembled a top-notch team of volunteers to put together a best-in-class live stream production. It was only after we had everything lined up that we learned that Issaquah School District entered into a contract with NFHS.
In spite of this, the QB Club has remained committed to the vision. In full transparency, we worked with Skyline High School and agreed to run both live streaming programs in parallel. We hope the response to the Spartan QBC Live stream production from the Skyline community is so positive that we're able to continue doing this for many years to come.
Q: If the Spartan QB Club is providing such a great live stream service (which we hope it is), why does Skyline also have the NFHS Network live stream?
A: The NFHS contract is at the district level.
Q: What games will be streamed? Varsity and JV/Froshmore? Home and Away?
A: Spartan QBC Live will stream all Varsity games, home and away and also as many JV/Froshmore games as possible, depending on if we have the volunteers to support. NFHS Network will stream Varsity and JV games, provided the hosting school is part of the NFHS Network (this is the case for all 2023 regular season games).
Q: Do I need an account to watch the live stream?
A: Not to watch the Spartan QBC Live stream on YouTube. Just click the link provided above. You do need an account and a subscription to watch games on the NFHS Network.
Q: When will the live stream begin?
A: The Spartan QBC Live stream on YouTube will begin 10-15 minutes prior to kick-off. NFHS Network streaming will begin 15-30 minutes prior to kick-off.
Q: Can I watch prior games?
A: Yes for both platforms. Spartan QBC Live streamed games are available for replay at Skyline Spartans Football - YouTube. NFHS Network live streamed games are available for replay at Skyline High School - Sammamish, WA (nfhsnetwork.com) for 12 months (subscription required).
Q: What do I do if the live stream quality is poor or glitching?
A: The Spartan QBC Live stream uses mobile network hotspots to get our signal to the cloud. In 2023, there were multiple away games where the mobile signal was not adequate and the live stream froze or was lost altogether. We are taking steps to prevent this from taking place again. If this occurs, we will upload the live stream recording (saved to our hardware) to our YouTube channel for replay. For troubleshooting issues with NFHS Network live stream, go to the support page at the NFHS website.
Q: I can't find the game at the NFHS Network website. Or I can find the game but it's not streaming. What do I do?
A: Go to Justagame.com to troubleshoot. It's possible there's an issue with the NFHS Network service. If you still encounter issues, try the following:
While we are not able to assist with technical issues related to the NFHS Network live streaming service, we would like to know if this service is not meeting our expectations so we can pass that on to Skyline and ISD administrators. Please share feedback with us by emailing [email protected].
Q: Which option is best for me?
A: Consider the following
- An NFHS Pass gives you the ability to watch any sporting event on the NFHS Network - all sports for all schools that are on the NHFS Network. Spartan QBC Live will only cover Varsity football games.
- NFHS live streams will use AI-controlled cameras, which don't always offer the best views. Spartan QBC Live will use multiple camera feeds operated by real people.
- NFHS live streams will have neutral play-by-play commentary by paid staff. Spartan QBC Live play-by-play will be by Skyline volunteers. It won't be unbiased - it will be given from the Skyline football fan's perspective.
- NFHS Network Pass costs $$. Spartan QBC Live is free.
Q: I'm interested in helping make the live streaming experience better. Who can I contact about volunteering to help?
